Cage, Cunningham, Paik, two performance announcements by Atelier Mary Bauermeister, Cologne 1960

(1) Balletabend, 5 October 1960, dance by Carolyn Brown, Merce Cunningham, Piano by John Cage and David Tudor. Brochure, 29.5 x 21 cm, 4 pp. folded twice. Programme and programme notes by John Cage in English and German. 'Though some of the dances and music are easily enjoyed, other are, to certain people, perplexing for they do not unfold along conventional lines.' Among the performances are Suite for Two, Lavish Escapade and Hands Birds (with costumes by Rauschenberg). Scarce item with age wear, tear on the programme notes sheet.

(2) Kompositionen. Invitation card for 4 performances by Cage, Young and Paik on October 6, 1960. Performed were John Cage's Cartridge music with Solo for Voice 2 and Music for Amplified Toy Pianos, a poem by La Monte Young and Nam June Paik's Etude for Piano. Card, 10.5 x 15 cm, printed b/w, with fold and rust mark from a paperclip. (total 2)
