In 1976 (when he was only 17) Knowles' poetry was used by Robert Wilson in Phillip Glass's minimalist opera, Einstein on the Beach. The book is divided in two chapters, opening with the chapter 'Poems' which contains material mostly used as lyrics for Einstein on the Beach. The second chapter 'Other Typings' consists of concrete poetry printed in black, green and red. Sunning on cover and spine, interior in fine condition.
