Avec des Explications Historiques par Mr. J. du Mont. The Hague, P. Husson, 1720, (16),132 p., with the following engravings: title vignette and 10 head pieces, folding portrait of Eugene, 3 double-page maps and 1 map on 2 double-page folding leaves, 10 double-page views, fine contemporary binding in marbled, abundantly gilt calf, gilt back with raised bands with morocco title shield, marbled edges, large folio.

Endpapers waterstained, bookblock itself here and there with light tanning/foxing or slightly soiled, views torn in along fold at bottom. Binding with wear/light damage to spine ends and corners, boards slightly scratched. A very good copy on large paper with the impressive plates in beautiful, strong prints. From the library of C. Scharfenberg, with his signature (dated 1872) on the title page and his business card pasted to the reverse of the title. On the last free endpaper a contemporary monogram in pen: "HfB". Rare work, here in first edition (second: 1725) of which only 2 copies in PiCarta.
