[Company business cards] Collection of more than 200 illustrated business cards/ flyers,

collected ca. 1900, i.a. at the world's fair in Paris that year, various shapes and sizes.

Mostly in good condition, partly affected by damp or gnawing. An exceptional collection of (extremely) rare printed commercial ephemera, probably collected by the Portuguese Eduardo Diaz, who lived in Porto around 1900. This appears from an additional stack of personal items, incl. letters in envelope addressed to him, two serviettes with his embroidered initials "E.D.", a stack of 13 catalogues of Portuguese booktraders (e.g. Livraria Moraes, Lisbon) etc. Some items standing out: a catalogue of Columbia Records (Columbia Phonograph Co.), published September 1897, 36 p., original wrapper, 15.3 x 8.2 cm., with indication "please destroy all previous lists"; a brochure specifically for the Universal Exhibition Paris 1900 by Libby, McNeill & Libby, Fleisch-Packer und Conservirer, Chicago, U.S.A., 16 p., original wrapper, 10.3 x 12.3 cm.; two variants of the Exposition 1900 Guide offert aux Visiteurs du Pavilon du Champagne Mercier, 24 p., original wrapper, 10.5 x 8 cm.; two different New Year's editions for 1878 of Libraririe Josselin, Geneva, written by "Un bon rouge", both 12 p., original uniform wrapper, 10.5 x 7 cm.; a trade catalogue for "Appareils Électrique. Téléphonie, by Ch. Mildé Fils & Cie., Paris, 1902, 32 p., with illustrations, original wrapper (total more than 200).
