Extraordinary copy: with handwritten, signed dedication from the author to Chevalier Paulin, Colonel des Sapeurs-Pompièrs of Paris, dated 1840. This Paulin is regarded as the father of the national French fire brigades for the large French cities. A firefighter, therefore, who loved water in more ways than one.
