"Brieven over 1870-1874". Manuscript register of more than 2500 letters sent from the establishment of the Maatschappij, dated 7 September 1870 to 31 December 1874, (319) written pages and some unwritten pages, bound in half leather with manuscript label on front, folio (small defects).

Very interesting original register with the contents of the letters described in varying forms of extensiveness (some an entire page or even more, others only a few lines). In the first letter, addressed to the Provincial Executive of Noord-Holland, the board is registered, comprised of Dr. E.A.P. van den Bogaert (chairman), Dr. L.H. Pompe (secretary) and the members G. Bosch, Dr. F.A. Ingen Housz and F. van Rijckevorsel. Van den Bogaert and Pompe were the founders of the Maatschappij, which in 1870 purchased the Coudewater Estate in order to establish there the psychiatric hospital "Coudewater" (a branch of Reinier van Arkel in Den Bosch) in the former monastery. Most of the following letters are addressed to mayors of municipalities in Brabant, but also to the Minister of the Interior, Provincial Executive, the Queen's Commissioner in North Brabant, Public Prosecutors, prisons and inspectors, in addition to a large number of declarations to municipalities.
