[Van Dissel linen factory 1890-1971] Archive

consisting of a reception book, original photos, correspondence, clippings, articles, publications, small prints, a linen occasional fabric, etc.

Interesting archive with extraordinary items. The reception book (bound in green leather, gilt edges, 4to) is for the occasion of the 50th business anniversary of J.E. van Dissel (30 aug. 1858), with ca. 190 signatures of guests; the linen fabric depicts the residence/vicarage of the couple E.J.F. van Dissel/E.C. Meyer at their golden wedding (29 October 1856-1916), by night (recto) and by day (verso); additionally a rare Duramast pattern book is worth mentioning; the photos include a beautiful series of 4 looms and 1 spinning machine by H.J. Tollens (ca. 1900), various photos of Beatrix and Claus and of table linen; the prints include several copies of the business gift "Vorstelijk damast" (1947) with the original typoscript for that publication and also a series of 8 flyers/price lists; the typed documents include correspondence with A.D. Copier, the Gispen factory, Prince Bernhard (copy of a letter with "waschvoorschrift" (!) to the latter and a personally signed letter of thanks in return (1949)) and correspondence concerning loans with the Textile Museum Tilburg.
