Coogne, Heronis Alopecij, 1539, (8),312 leaves, title page with letterpress text surrounded by 8 woodcuts, woodcut initials in the text, bound in lovely contemporary blindstamped pigskin across wooden boards with bevelled edge.

Title page waterstained and with old library mark in pen (apparently a monastery in Galten); leaves 311 and 312 lightly damaged; boards with some wormholes and lacking copper clamps. Lovely copy with label on inside front cover: "Bequethed to the Bishopric of Cornwall by the Rev. Franke Parker, Rector of Luffincott, Devon, 1883." Rare edition (only one copy in Picarta) of this work concerning the epistles of Paul, by Haymo (ca. 778-853), bishop of Halberstadt. The renaissance binding is decorated with roll stamps with portrait and with the figures of Lucretia, Justitia and Prudentia.
