Partly vaguely waterst.; lacks final free endpaper. Binding lacks ties, is smoke-stained and worn/ sl. dam. along extremities. With intriguing, contemporary old owner's entry on half title: "Sum Friederici von Nassa (?), qui me sibi comparavit 10 imper. 9 aug. anno 1647". Very rare, early edition, no copies in PiCarta, listing editions of 1638, 1650 and later. Benedikt Carpzov the Younger (1595-1666), German lawyer and witchcraft theoretician who wrote extensively on witch processes, the founder of the German jurisprudence, also known as Ludovicus de Montesperato.
