Two book bindings of rich gilt green ("oasis") morocco,

signed "Petit Succ & De Simier" on free endpaper of volume 1, both volumes dated 1862 on the bottom of the spine, all boards very richly gilt with large diamondshaped ornament inlaid with central oval of red leather, boards furthermore with corner ornaments, ribbed and gilt back, rich gilt borders on inside, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt (small defects).

Bound around: copy on large paper of Recueil des meilleurs contes en vers. Printed by Ch. Lahure et Cie. in 200 numbered copies, 1862, 2 volumes, (2),208,(1); (2),210,(1) p., with 21 and 25 engraved illustrations (partly with erotic characters) (lacks title pages). Poems by Voltaire, Vergier, Seneca, Perrault, Moncrif, Ducerceau, Grécourt, Piron, Saint-Lambert, Champfort, Dorat, François de Neufchateau and Monnoye.
