A good set with the following small defects: all volumes more or less foxed and here and there tanned; volume 5 with water stain in bottom margin at the beginning; some plates incorrectly numbered but correctly bound; a few hinges slightly split (1x wormholes on hinge). The first edition of these beautifully illustrated flora appeared in 1814-1820. The aforementioned illustrators, Pierre- Jean- François Turpin (1775-1840) and E. Panckoucke (wife of the publisher) were students of P.-J. Redouté.
