The second edition of this infuential handbook. The first edition appeared in 1811, a third in 1831. The book was translated into Japanese at an early stage, and was highly influential in that country. The book is divided into 16 chapters on various medications to instigate physical recovery, mostly through highly diverse forms of bodily excretions.
