[Almanacs/ year books] Two literary series: (1) Castalia.

Jaarboekje aan de Fraaie Letteren gewijd. Year 1867-1875 [= all]. Amsterdam, Gebroeders Kraay, 1866-1874, 9 volumes, each volume with 6 steel-engraved plates incl. frontisp. and title, original richly gilt and blindstamped (uniform) cloth by F.A.L. Japin (Amsterdam), J.V. v.d. Heuvel (The Hague), A. Beukhof (Amsterdam) and others, all edges gilt.

Volume 1878 inner hinge broken and boards foxed, remaining volumes here and there foxed/ slightly browned and minor other defects, yet a lovely set, rare in complete condition; (2) (Nieuwe) Keur van nuttige en aangename mengelingen voor 1819 [= second year], 1825, 1829-1832, 1837 and 1838. Amsterdam, J.C. van Kesteren, 1820-1838, with engraved title pages, contemporary half leather (7x, 1829-1832 uniform)/ later wrapper (1837). Here and there waterstained or browned; various bindings with defects/ wear. From 1827 titled Nieuwe Keur (...), after 1841 continued as Keur van mengelingen (...) (total 17).
