Florilegium amplissimum et selectissimum, quo non tantum varia diversorum florum praestantissimorum et nunquam antea exhibitorum genera (...) Autore Emanuele Sweertio. Amsterdam. Johannes Janssonius. 1631 [2 parts in one volume].

Folio, leather, title on spine, arms of the Arch Bishop of Rouen, Jacques Nicolas Colbert (1655-1707) on both boards in gilt stamping. On the title-page the manuscript ex libris "Bibliotheca Colbertina". The Bibliotheca Colbertina was assembled by several members of the Colbert family (incl. Jean Baptiste Colbert). Our copy can be traced in the first volume (folio sized books) of the catalogue of the library that appeared in 1728, it is listed under number 3293 (in the digitally available online copy with price "8,-" added in pen). Frontispiece with allegorical scene and the title, portrait of the author by A. Clutius, 22 pp. text and 62 of 67 plates. The second part with title and printer's mark, 8 pp. text and 39 of 43 plates. Text in Latin, Dutch, German and French. Spine with imperfections, binding with traces of use, here and there wormholes outside the text and prints, various prints with offset. Fair copy from the Colbert library.
