Two drawings: (1) J. Schier (ca. 1850). "Rembrandt van Rijn.

Negen jaren oud, teekent den molen zijns vaders af (...)." Drawing in pen and ink, signed "J. Schier Penne Werk", with central image as described in the title, surround by rich calligraphed curled border with 2x the arms of Amsterdam, above an 8-line ode in 2 columns, 26 x 27 cm.

Brown and slightly creased, pasted with top margin to thick paper holder. On the holder an unidentified stamped collector's mark (Lugt online, 4438) and a pasted (damaged) letterpress strip with old German description of the drawing. Lovely and decorative item, the RKD mentions a city view by Jacob Sohier from 1868, possibly the same artist. With: (2) "Le marechand Juif". Anonymous caricatural drawing in pen and (washed) ink, 10.5 x 7.5 cm., affixed to holder (damaged) (total 2).
