[Historical newspapers] Arnhemsche Courant (1816-1817)

Arnhem. C.A. Thieme. Title with arms of Arnhem. All stamped. Running irregularly from Dingsdag den 2 Julij 1816 up to and including Zaturdag den 2 Augustus 1817. 2-leafed [recto and verso] and occasionally 4-leafed. 44 x 27 cm. The paper brought local, national and international news, facts, various news and prices of products at the market, among other things. During the first half of the 19th century, the Arnhemsche Courant was the scourge of conservative The Hague. In passionate writing the paper criticised the conservative politics of William I and later those of William II. However, happy news regarding royalty was also reported: "Brussel 20 feb. 1817.
