[Italy] Two finely handcoloured series in one volume: (1) Achille Vianelli (1803-1894).

(Scene popolari di Napoli. Disegnate di Achille Vianelli con Aquatinta di Witting). (Naples, Theodore Witting, 1832), series of 14 (of ?) fine antiquely handcoloured aquatints by Witting after Vianelli, each ca. 10 x 12 cm. and with inscription, contemporary marbled boards, oblong 4to (19 x 23 cm.) (light wear to binding).

One plate waterstained in blank margin, else here and there some foxing or slightly soiled. Lovely and rare series, e.g. with depictions of traditional crafts, finely colours. Contains for example the following scenes: "Calesso da viaggio", "Fabbricante di franferlicchi" (related to the craft of pizza making), "Maccaronaro", "Acquajuolo", "Acquajuolo ambulante", "Canta storie", "Levatrice col bambino" and "Rissa di donne". (2) Gaetano Dura (1805-1878). (Raccolta di costumi e vestituri d'Italia). Series of 13 (of ?) finely handcoloured (and partly gum-heightened) lithographs of women in various costumes by Cucciniello and Bianchi after Dura (and others?), ca. 1830, all ca. 17 x 11 cm. and with inscription. Waterstained in blank margin, else slightly foxed. Costumes from Isolo d'Ischia, Bisaccia, Schiavi, Polla, Preta, Ispani, Volturara, Trivento, Serino, Correcuso, Roccaspinalveti, Pietra Camela and Bagnoli (total two colourful series in one volume).
