[Leiden.

Orlers, oud burgemeester derzelve stad. Derde druk. Leiden, C. Heyligert & L. Herdingh, n.d. (1781), 3 parts with separate title pages but consecutive paging in one volume, (28),773,(11) p., with 22 engraved plates, mostly (large) folding, incl. a beautiful large profile (42 x 52 cm.), a large plate of the siege and relief of Leiden 1574 by Romeyn de Hooghe (40 x 47 cm.), a plan of the city with profile above and a plate with the inauguration of the university, also with various engraved illustrations in the text, later half vellum, 4to.

Affected by damp in bottom margin at the end; the large plate by De Hooghe expertly restored (once torn of in top left corner); several other plates with small tear, here and there slightly stained. Acceptable and complete copy, all plates present as per binder's index (one plate misbound facing p. 424 instead of 584 as requested). The best edition of the three (first edition 1614, second 1641).
