Frankfurt, ex officina Paltheniana, sumptibus heredum Petri Fischeri, 1603, (331) leaves, with woodcut printer's mark, very finely contemporaneously bound in rich blindstamped pigskin across bevelled wooden boards, with roll stamp with detailed portrait medallions, with the original clamps (slightly browned as usual, old owner's names at the beginning).

Rare first edition in fine renaissance binding, of this dictionary with Herodotus by Aemilius Portus (1550-1614/1615), one of the most important linguists of his time.
