Title in red and black with vignette by O. de Vries, XII,239,(2) pp., spine with minor imperfections, annotations and name on endpapers. Good copy. Scarce. Philippe Fermin wrote several books on Suriname, of which this is the most important. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Aberdeen, where Houttuyn (of the large Linnaeus series) was one of his paranymphs.
