[Rare title edition] Arriani ars tactica (...).

Cum interpretibus Latinis, & Notis. Ex reccensione & Museo Nicolai Blancardi. Amsterdam/ Leipzig, Arkstee & Merkus, 1750, text in Greek and Latin, (14),450,(4) p., with the following engravings: frontispiece (with address Janssonius-Van Waesberge and date 1683), large folding map (with address Johannes Janssonius), 1 smaller folding map, large folding table and many illustrations, contemporary calf, ribbed and gilt back with morocco letterpiece.

Free endpaper loose, a few minor other defects, yet a good copy, with two heraldic ex libris with identical coats of arms with motto "sapere aude" on endpapers (military collection of G.L. Parker and North Library), and a blind stamp with the same arms in the frontispiece and in the letterpress title. Title edition of the 1683 edition, using the remaining bookblocks 67 years later. The new publisher also made it easy on himself by almost exactly copying the old title page, including the form of the typography and the font, yet now printed in red and black (in 1683 only in black). Remarkably, no copies of this edition can be found in PiCarta, although they do appear in several libraries abroad.
