[Horsecar] "Concessie aan de Amsterdamsche Omnibus Maatschappij".

"Verleend bij raadsbesluit van 29 Mei 1890. Zie Gemeenteblad Afdeeling 3 volgn. 39. Afschrift" [manuscript title on portfolio]. Series of 4 manuscript maps in pen and ink and red and blue colouring, drawn in March/ April 1890 on silk, of 4 different Amsterdam omnibus lines, all with stamp of the Technisch Bureau van de Maatschappij, all signed in pen "voor eensluidend afschrift" by secretary Le Jolle who also added copies of the signatures of mayor Gijsbert van Tienhoven and H.G. van der Vies and K.H. Schadd (resp. acting chairman and "admin. dir." of the Amsterdamsche Omnibus Maatschappij), all with height of 53 cm. but varying in length: 129, 144, 216 and 222 cm., loose folded in original portfolio (53 x 43.5 cm.), with manuscript title and red wax seal with the arms of Amsterdam, in tin slipcase.

Originally the maps were connected to the portfolio by a string, now loose and string missing. Also occ. mild foxing. Highly exceptional, original item of the Amsterdamsche Omnibus Maatschappij founded in 1872, which operated cars, horses and staff. Contains maps/ profiles of the following lines: (1) "Lijn Dam - Nassaukade - Bilderdijkstraat Situatie 1 à 1250"; (2) "Lijn Leidscheplein - Plantage. Omlegging der sporen tusschen de Sarphatistraat en de Plantage. Schaal 1 à 500"; (3) "Lijn Kadijksplein - Czaar Peterstraat en Abattoir. Aanleg zijtak Abattoir. Schaal 1 à 1000"; (4) "Lijn Weesperzijde - Jonas Daniël Meyerplein - Centraal Station. Situatie 1 à 1250".
