Claudine Bouzonnet Stella (1636-1697) (after). Series of 12 etchings,

the first with address of Gerard Valck (1652-1726), numbered 2-11 and 14 (the first etching dam. w. loss of the number), each with 5 line verse in French below, threadbound, obl. 4to size (19 x 30 cm.).

The first print damaged and clumsily handcol.; all prints with central vertical fold (number 14 w. closed tear on fold); number 6 and 9 w. larger tear affecting the image occas. sm. closed tears/ frayed; occas. stains. Sold w.a.f. Extremely rare series of copies in reverse, probably by Gerard Valck himself. Of the first print ("Danse en branle") we sold a copy from the edition by Isaac Greve (1677-1757) in our auction 18. The other prints we have the following titles: "Les Quilles" (skittles); "Le Iardinage" (gardening); "Disner Champestre"; "Le Tappe-main"; "Au Loup" (hunting); "La Tonnelle" (catching birds); "Les Foins" (straw harvest); "La Balançoire" (improvised seesaw with 6 people); "Les Vandanges" (harvesting grapes); "La Moisson" (harvesting grain) and "Fiancailles" (wedding party).
