[China] Handpainted fan + pith-paper paintings
Fan with flower design. Watercolour on paper, 19th cent. 20 x 43.5 cm. Mounted on ornamental fabric sheet. Mild vertical fold, sl. foxed + birds and flowers fan with calligraphy. Watercolour, 19th cent. On cloth, 36 x 27 cm. Mounted on board. Sl. foxed, especially at the edges. Added: 9 gouache paintings on pith paper. 8 depicting women playing instruments, 1 depicting a branch with flowers and a butterfly. 8.3 x 5 cm, the latter 14 x 8 cm. Mounted under passe-partouts on board along edge. Pith paper scratched in several places, a few minor tears and light foxing.
