[Southeast Asia] Album with 83 pasted albumen photos

taken/ collected during a journey from Marseille to Shanghai by the steamship Ernest Simons of the Messageries Maritimes de Marseille, from 29 September to 9 November 1901, four photos signed Zangaki, 1 by Lai Afong, 8 photos by Lambert & Co, partly titled in the negative, all titled in pen, 10.5 x 14.5 cm. to 20 x 27.5 cm. (mostly large sizes), contemporary halfmorocco with gilt-lettered initials "L.D.W." and date 1901 on front board, oblong folio, 33 x 41 cm. (binding with some rubbing/ wear).

Beautiful album with highly interesting photos in lovely large sizes, with the lively streetscapes particularly remarkable.
