LOT 2445
SOLD €340,00

[Songs, recitals etc.] Lot with ± 125 items,

consisting of ± 50 single-leafed publications or bifolia from c. 1900, ± 30 thin books mostly from c. 1850-1900 and ± 45 typed or manuscript from c. 1950, together in round cardboard box with lid (c. 1900, diameter 36 cm.) (incl. doubles).

Lovely collection with many (very) rare items, with (humorous) text mainly intended to be sung or recited at festive occasions such as weddings. Two circular printed broadsheet songs issued by J.A. Weinbeck in Rotterdam lead to the belief that this round box was the original packaging for these, as they fit perfectly. Most of the publishers were situated in Rotterdam: Gebroeders Poot, A. Zwanenburg, W. Tuinstra, Electr. Drukkerij Strömberg & Co., Frans Moret & Zonen, Humanitaire Boekhandel K.F. Hallensleben, Drukkerij Libertas, "De Feestvriend" and J.A. Weinbeck. Several songs by publisher L. Kluit at Brielle have also been included in the collection. Titles such as Mirliton-Lied (various copies), Maskerlied, Toeterlied, Neuzen-Lied, Het Huwelijks-Weerglas and Pakt de leuning!, besides bruilofts- and huldeliederen and several spotliederen by J.H. Speenhof. The thin books incl. publications by H. de Hoogh (Amsterdam, 1866), J.D. Dijk (Groningen, n.d., 3x), P. Out (Koog aan de Zaan, 1882, "Present ex. van den uitgever"), A. de Vos, L. Az. (Zierikzee, 5x, all 1903), C.H. Lubers Jr. (Amsterdam, n.d.), Van der Meulen & Co. (The Hague, n.d., 3x), H. Koster (Amsterdam), Gebroeders Poot (Rotterdam, n.d., 2x), S. de Hoop & Co (Amsterdam, n.d., 2x) and 2 German collected vols. (1841 and 1843). Finally the box also contains 3 lithographed paper party masks and 2 poesie albums. (total ± 125)
