Lesort (Paris), front board with gilt-lettered initials A.L. of Albert Legrand, edges of boards finely gilt on inside, silk endpapers, ribbed and gilt-lettered back, all edges gilt.

Calendar at the beginning trimmed trifle short, else a perfect, desirable copy. With calligraphed and gold-heightened dedication to first blank: "Souvenir de Première Communion offert le I Mai 1887 à Albert Legrand par sa Marraine et Grand-Père et Monsieur et Madame Von Lallart" (above coat of arms and date 1597). Also with dedication in ballpoint by Vialar Legrand, dated 1951. Printing-wise a fantastic feat with brightly coloured, ever-changing edge decorations, giving the facsimile the feel of an extremely precious and profusely illuminated medieval manuscript.
