[Violin makers] Album with ± 370 mounted violin brands 17th-19th century

c. 1900, mostly in facsimile, but incl. a number of probably original printed and/or (partly) manuscript brands, mounted together with a small number of facsimile portraits of violin makers, original halfcloth, folio.

Collection almost certainly compiled by "Monsieur Loutre Jules, Rue Deneck, 53 Kockelberg" (typed bookplate to inside front board). Among the (presumably) authentic brands: Andreas Borelli (Parma, 1740); Nicolas Amati (several Cremona, 1654 etc.), Antonius Amati (Cremona, 1693), Giovan Paolo Maggini (Brescia, 1654), Petrus Ambrosim (Brixiae, 1771), Alessandro Galliano (Naples, 1850), Gregorio Antoniazzi (Colle, 1738), Antonio Stradivarius (Cremona, 1713), Mathias Albani (Bulsani Thirolu, 1909), Louis Lowendall (Dresden, 1883), Martinus Mathias Fichtl (Vienna, 1761), various members of the violin-making family of Klo(t)z (Mittenwald, 18th century), Jean Baptiste de Lannoy (Paris, 1761) and Pietro Antonius dalla Costa (17?).
