[Egypt, Israel etc.] Series of 39 albumen photos

c. 1880, all but a few ± 28 x 22 cm., nearly all titled in the negative, mostly signed in the negative by Bonfils (at least 9x) and Zangaki (± 19x) and others, all mounted on uniform cardboard holders.

Titles and signatures partly poorly or not at all legible (faded), several photos with title added in pen. Several photos with other (minor) defects. Splendid series of photos, incl. a number of everyday scenes such as "Cafetier ambulante dans les rues de Jérusalem", "Bazar de Jaffa", "Chasse des Poux", "Rabbin Juif à Jerusalem", "Écrivain Arabe à Bab-el-Ouady", "Mur ou les Juifs vont pleurer", "Caffee Arabe", "Caire. Vue générale des Piramides", "Caire. Tombeau du Kalife (...)" and "Bédouines du Moab devant leur tente". (total 39)
