Flash Art, lot of 6

Six early issues of one of Europe's oldest running contemporary art magazines founded by Giancarlo Politi in Milan in 1967. Bilingual in Italian and English. Issues in this lot are: No.19 Sept-Oct 1970, No.35/36 Sept-Oct 1973, No.37 Nov 1973, No.38 January 1973, No.74/74 1977 and No.84-85 Oct-Nov 1978.

Highlights encompass the Venice Biennale (No.19), Music and Dance Festival in Rome with Yvonne Rainer, Philip Glass, Thrisha Brown and Documenta 72 with Dan Graham, Art and Language, Boltanski and Richter (No. 35/36). Issue No.38 presents an interesting list of Top Hundred Artists of 1972 with Rauschenberg at the top, the only 2 women listed were Riley and Bontecou. No. 84-85 is a Fluxus issue, with text by Ken Friedman and Dick Higgins including special contributions for George Maciunas, who died earlier that year. The Fluxus issue is in mint condition, other copies are fine.
