Damen published ten issues of AH tijdschrift voor verbaal- plasticisme/ Review for verbal-plasticism between 1966 and 1972. The magazine appeared irregularly in various formats and was filled with analytical texts and explorations of visual poetry by Damen himself as well as contributions by a broad range of international visual/concrete poetry artists such as Paul de Vree, Timm Ulrichs, Herman de Vries, Sarenco, Jirí Valoch, Jean-François Bory. Damen (also operating as Deman) wanted to apply spatial and kinetic aspects to poetry (such as movement of 3 dimensional letters). His manifests of Verbal Plasticism stress the playful connections of language with space, sound (verbo-phonic poetry), smell, taste (edible poems) and touch.
