Obl. folio. Finely bound in full vellum (ca. 1800), gilt spine w. mor. inlays, engr. title, portrait of Stadanus in rich borders and above letterpress laudatory poem by Barlaeus, engr. dedication to Ferdinando de Medici, followed by 37 engr. by Adriaen Collaert, Karel de Mellery and Philips Galle, former owner's entry "Brion Platinck" in pen on upper pastedown.

Title strengthened in outer margin, portrait touched w. col., the plates occas. waterst., sl. foxed or fingersoiled. Some descriptions of other copies mention 38 plates, but most copies have the same composition as this copy, so this copy assumed complete. A very fine copy, the plates with much contrast.
