Soft Art Press. Lausanne, Galerie Soft Press, 1975- 1979

14 issues out of 18 all published. Edited by Noémi Maidan and Max Bucher (from No.12). The quarterly mail art magazine from Switzerland featured reproductions of postcards, rubber stamps, mail art notices and announcements of small publishers' releases worldwide. It described itself as follows: 'Soft Art Press is a little magazine dealing with non-static art: video, mail-art, artists' public performances'. Folded sheets, colour offset on white and pink paper, 29.5 x 21 cm, between 8-14 pp. With artists’ contributions in offset, silkscreen and rubber stamps (some original) .

Themed issues include: Multi-media art archives (No.15 1978), Japan (No.11 1977), Central and South America (No.18 1979) amongst others. Frequent attention is given to small art publishers/archives such as Ecart headed by John Armleder in Geneva, Other Books and So, run by Ulises Carrion in Amsterdam, Anna Banana Productions in California, CaYC in Buenos Aires. The set (though incomplete) presents an important and lively historical document for those researching the international mail art, small press and art archives scene in the 1970s. An extensive list describing all issues is available upon request. Soft Art Press is mentioned in Gwen Allen p. 298, and by Anna Banana in the introduction to Vile #6 Fe-Mail Art, 1978. (total 14)
