Two "Trap des Ouderdoms" prints

On the steps of the stairs, walking across the globe (the northern hemisphere), are figures between the ages of 10 and 100. Below the image a verse in 2 columns in Frisian. (2) H. Numan. "De Trap des Ouderdoms", no. 47. Handcol. woodcut engr. 30 x 40 cm. Between cradle and grave, a man and a woman climb the stairs of old age. Two 6 line verses in Dutch as captions. Orig. printed and publ. by Numan himself in the 18th century. This is most likely a reprint publ. by P.C.L. van Staden in Amst. between 1850 and 1870. Both prints mildly creased and worn, sm. tears/ holes. Very rare. (total 2)
