Library stamp frontisp. Occas. foxing/ browning, last 3 part w. waterst. upper part of p., but text still legible. In the first 2 parts, van der Groen (1624-71), gardener of the Prince of Orange, discusses the design and planting of gardens for country houses and castles. In the 4 other parts, the physician Nylandt discusses the activity during the 12 months of the year (planting and harvesting vegetables, fruit, herbs, etc.), the beneficial effects of various crops; the preparation of medicines and remedies for humans and animals; apiculture; and kitchen recipes. Very rare work, especially this ed. and w. all 6 parts complete.
