[Laid paper] Two vols. with ca. 190 blank laid paper lvs

With watermark Villedary/ coat-of arms of Amsterdam, late 17th/ early 18th cent., orig. unif. vellum ("splitselband"), folio (32.5 x 22 cm). Occas. stains, foxing or browning, but generally in very fine condition. The vols. were used to collect coats-of-arms cut from large sheets issued by a.o. Cornelis Specht in 1708 and Cornelis Kribber in 1745, of which some titles were copied in pencil in our manuscript: "Namen en wapens der heren edelen ende ridderschappe representerende den tweeden Staet van den Lande van Utrecht soo als de selve zedert den jaare 1597 ende vervolgens sijn beschreven" and "Namen en wapenen der heeren geëligeerden, representerende het Eerste Lid vande Staten ‘s Lands van Utrecht Soo als de zelve Zedert den Jaare 1582 (...)." Of these cut-out engr. coats-of-arms, one vol. contains ca. 235 finely handcol. specimens, the other ca. 600 uncoloured smaller specimens.
