Eichholtz luitenant kolonel kommandant van genoemd bataillon, opgemaakt en toegezonden zijn geworden aan (...) luit. generaal baron Krayenhoff, gouverneur van Amsterdam (...). The preface dated Grave, 1 Nov. 1828. Title, table of contents and 15 pages, 4 ills. on 1 large fold. plate, bound unif. w. the preceding, folio. Both vols. w. old Danish library stamps, tickets and manuscr. shelf numbers, of the Ingenieurcorpsets Bibliothek and the Kon. Garnisons Bibl. in Copenhagen. Paper over spine of the first work sl. damaged. Johan Jacobus Hennequin (1796-1880) was lieutenant and adjutant with the mentioned battalion of miners and sappers, son of Pieter Hennequin (1765)-1826), a military engineer and later general-major in the Dutch army. The two manuscripts were both based calculations and formulas of lieutenant colonel Abraham Eichholtz (1771?-1846). Manuscripts on the use of gun powder in load mines, incl. summaries of reports on mine experiments during military exercises in 1824-1825. This exercise took place near the fortified city of Grave with the goal of testing size and number of mines required in undermining fortifications, and how to improve fortifications to withstand such attacks.
