[Pharmacopoeia. Amsterdam] (Tulp, N.). Pharmacopaea Amstelredamensis, of d'Amsterdammer apotheek,

in welke allerlei medicamenten, zijnde tot Amsterdam in 't gebruik, konstiglijk bereid worden. Als ook des selfs krachten en manier van ingeven. Den vierden druk naukeurigh oversien. (Dutch transl. by P. Bernagie). Amst., J. ten hoorn, 1690, (8),210 [=208],(12) p., w. engr. frontisp. by Jan Luiken showing the interior of an apothecary, cont. vellum, 12mo. Used copy, stained on the in- and outside, quire F loose, vellum cracked at foot of spine.

Daems & Vandewiele p. 58 (1 copy only, the same as listed in the STCN, lacking the frontispiece); Van Eeghen & V.d. Kellen 486. Very rare fourth edition of the Dutch translation (apparently only 1 copy in PiCarta) of the 1636 Latin original edition, that was anonymously compiled by Nicolaes Tulp (1593-1674). It was the first Dutch pharmacopoeia. Unlike that edition, this translation not only lists ingredients, but also instructs on how to prepare the medicines. Additonally, it provides a short list of medical books printed by Jan ten Hoorn.
