The unfinished natural history of the district Holland (the history of the flora was never published), dealing with the cultural and social life of its inhabitants and providing a geographical description, including an extensive treatise on horses. The often lacking second half of the work (from vols. 5 onwards) was published quite later by Trap in Leyden, and consists of an extensive treatise on cattle, the building of stalls, the production of cheese etc.
