[Sinterklaas] Lot of 23 folio-sized col. catchpenny prints

Var. publishers, late 19th to early 20th cent, incl. prints duplicates. Generally in acceptable condition considering the poor quality of the paper; some frayed, w. sm. tears or w. other defects. Comprises a.o.: (1) "Geschenk voor de leergrage jeugd. N. 76". Stencil-col. catchpenny print showing 4 woodcut prints above titles and 4-line poems (Sint-Nicolaas-avond, De verhuistijd, De boeren-kermis and Het Sint-Maartens-vuur), sheet size 42.5 x 28.5 cm. Without address, but published by Beersmans in Turnhout, ca. 1870-1890. Boerma et al. p. 718, no. 76, and illustrated on p. 640: "Deze prent van Beersman is gedrukt met blokken die in de achttiende eeuw door Numan zijn gesneden." Present in 7 copies in var. conditions. (2) "St. Niklaas in den Congo. No. 569". Col. lithogr. catchpenny print, 40 x 27.5 cm, without address but published by Gordinne in Liège, early 20th cent. The same print but in mirror-image and numb. 129 is present in the lot in a Dutch and in a French ("Saint-Nicolas au Congo") variant. -and 4 covers of folio sized catchpenny print albums dep. Sinterklaas (one containing 9 prints w. address of Gordinne in Liège) and a nice photograph (29.5 x 39.5 cm) dep. Sinterklaas on horseback and zwarte Piet.
