(Saxe, Maurice, comte d. Les reveries ou memoires sur l'art de la guerre)
Probably The Hague, P. Gosse Jr., 1756. Atlas only, comprising 56 finely handcol. plates, all trimmed to the borderline and mounted (partly mounted in pairs and partly as double-p. plates), on double-p. lvs, w. engr. plate numbers cut out and mounted separately on the plates. Contemporary hcalf over boards, spine with 2 contrasting morocco lettering pieces ("Reveri du C. de Saxe" and "Planches Tom. III"). Square 4to (26 x 28 cm).
The individual numbering and the total number of the plates differ from copies described in auction records. Most leaves are contemporary but remargined, unifying the size of the leaves to be bound together in this volume, w. the mounted numbers and the mounting on stubs causing some glue stains. Otherwise contents fine. Upper joint split, lower joint starting to split; spine-ends and edges of covers worn. Fine plates, not often seen in contemporary handcoloured state.
