te Amsterdam; voornamelijk in de zestiende eeuw. Amst., J. van der Hey en Zoon, 1828. W. engr. title incorporating a view of the St. Olofspoort. Contemp. hcalf w. gilt spine (joints splitting). This copy includes 43 added engravings and 1 aquarel. Incl. a.o. are "S. Catrijnen ofte Nieuwe-Kerk" by C. Visscher, portrait of Maurits by C. Bouttats, "Afbeeldinge der Stadt Amsterdam, gelyk deselve in den jare 1536" by J. van Sassen after C. Antoniusz. Some captions are annotated in ink providing historical comments, such as "Nú in wooningen veranderd, heeft al omtrent anno 1303 gestaen, en anno 1578 in burgerwooningen veranderd" (beneath a watercolour of Onse Lieve Vrouwe Kapel). Also incl. three pasted-in signatures, one of which is Pieter Jansz. Kies, mayor of Haarlem in the late 16th cent.
