The original designs and preparatory materials for a game of quartets illustrating all kinds of popular puppet theatre: consisting of 67 loose cards (of 66, lacking the first card) w. col. gouache ills. (incl. 3 cards meant as jokers apparently) and 2 extra cards, each card measuring 10 x 7 cm, two proof sheets w. a total of 46 mounted duplicate cards in col. gouache (incl. the first card that is lacking in the stack of loose cards) and 18 mounted xeroxed duplicate cards, all w. the printed numbers and texts mounted above and below the image, 3 proof sheets printed in blue, measuring 95 x 58 cm showing all the cards w. their texts, a printed proof sheet for the box, several proof sheets in colour or xeroxed (one transparent), and ca. 100 (mostly A3 sized) xeroxed sheets w. explanatory texts for a booklet accompanying the game.

Theater Encyclopedie (online): "Hetty Paërl (1931-2020) was een Nederlands poppenspeelster. Zij was voorts historicus en onderzocht de oorsprong van het poppenspel, waarover ze publiceerde en illustreerde. Zij studeerde aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Vanaf 1966 werkte Hetty als boekillustrator. Sinds 1979 kwam haar focus te liggen op het onderzoek doen naar de geschiedenis en de oorsprong van het Europese volkspoppenspel. Vooral het personage van Jan Klaassen trok haar aandacht; over hem schreef ze een tiental boeken, verschillende artikelen en maakte ze vele illustraties. Ook de Napolitaanse Pulchinella trok haar aandacht. Haar onderzoeksresultaten publiceerde ze in vele boeken, artikelen, schilderijen en illustraties. Tevens was Hetty twintig jaar lang betrokken bij het Poppenspe(e)lmuseum, waarmee ze haar kennis en creativiteit deelde. (...)
