Paris, the author, Durand and Pissot Fils, 1748, w. engr. title w. handcol. details and gommé, followed by a 7-p. letterpress "ordre des cartes" in 8vo size, and 126 (of 128) numb. maps (partly handcol. in outlines, partly w. the cities col. red), contemp. calf., gilt and ribbed spine w. part of mor. letterpiece, obl. 4to. The present maps follow the letterpress index, which is numbered up to 136, but skips several numbers. The right half of the worldmap, the upper outer corner of the map of Europe, the final 2 maps and free endpapers are lacking in our copy. All maps w. middle-fold, occas. fingersoiling and staining, some repairs. Joints split (upper joint reinforced w. leather), spine-ends chipped.
