Rembrandt van Rijn (1609-1669), after. Two plates: (1) Studies of three old men's heads
Helio-engr. plate on laid paper, 10 x 8.5 cm (plate mark), mounted along upper margin. Central foxed spot, thin spot in lower left corner. After the etching Bartsch 374. (2) Sitting young man with a bag. Helio-engr. plate on laid paper, 9 x 7.8 cm (platemark), formerly mounted along upper margin (strip of sellotape on top margin verso). After Bartsch 258, but attribution later disputed - probably after a student of Rembrandt such as Constantijn à Renesse (1626-1686), as indicated in pencil on mount.
