Sm. 8vo., cloth bindings with title in red and gildstamping on spine. 4x engr. frontispiece and 37 mostly coloured prints in copperengraving. Staggered paging. "Kabinet van mode en smaak" is the second fashion magazine that was published in the Netherlands based on a French example. It appeared from 1791-1794 and was published by Adriaan Loosjes in Haarlem. Apart from fashion news, in contained various items such as: poems, stories, travel reports, plays and even anthropological studies. The fashion prints were straight copies from the French magazine Journal des dames et des modes. Loosjes’ engraver also combined French and German examples, rare. (4 in total).
