View of a rich Italian Renaissance city w. the humble Nativity scene at left. Engraving 18 x 23 cm, monogrammed "Hh Inventor et Sculps. Cum privillegio", w. 2-line Latin verse ("Unica lux mundi (...)") and dated 1618 in the plate below the image. Very good impression on fine laid paper w. large Eagle watermark and good margins. Central vertical folds, trifle foxed, strip of tape from former mounting at upper margin verso. Very rare print, recto w. collector's stamp of Pierre Stroobants (Lugt 3966) and verso w. another collector's stamp of Stroobants (Lugt 3967). Hollstein IX, 87, no. 26. A later state is known with the date erased and w. the address of Visscher.
