Bega, C. (1631/32-1664). Four etchings: (1) The three drinkers

Etching, 10.7 x 10.2 cm, mounted at upper margin. Very good impression on rather thin laid paper w. unidentified watermark, w. thread margins. A few creases, otherwise fine. Hollstein 29, 1st state (of 3). (2) The peasant lighting his pipe. Etching, 11.2 x 8.9 cm (plate mark, in this copy clearly outlined/ inked), mounted at upper corners, under passe-partout. Good impression on rather thin laid paper, w. ample margins. Sl. yellowed, sharp plate mark at the left splitting the paper. Verso w. stamp "dubbel R.P.K.L." (Rijks Prentenkabinet Leiden, Lugt 700b, the doublets were sold at auction of Paul Brandt in 1948). Hollstein 20, 2nd state (of 4). -and 2 others by the same.
