Valerius Max. Lib. 4. de abstinentia et continentia". Engraving, 41 x 58.5 cm, after Pater Paul Rubens (1577-1640), signed "S. à Bolswert sculpsit" and "P.P. Rubens pinxit" and titled in the plate below the image, mounted at upper margin under passe-partout. Fine impression w. much contrast and good margins. A bit creased, vaguely waterst. in lower r. corner, verso soiled. Still a good copy for such a large print. Hollstein (Bolswert) 290 and Hollstein (Rubens) 35, 1st state (of 3). (2-9) F. Ertinger (1648-1710). Series of 8 oblong scenes from classical antiquity; eight numb. etchings on 2 lvs, each approx. 12 x 35 cm, after Raymond Lafage (1656-1684), the first print w. the names of both artists and the address of Gerard Valck in Amsterdam, the two large sheets mounted at upper corners under passe-partouts. Both lvs. sl. browned/ foxed, w. sm. (closed) tears and a bit frayed. -and a similar leaf w. 4 etchings by Lafage himself, also published by Valck.
