*The Impressionist Nussbaum was associated with the 'Berliner Secession' group. During the First World War, he served as a war correspondent, producing several lithographs depicting scenes from the Western Front. He co-founded the Frankfurter Künstlerhilfe and taught at the Frankfurter Städelschule, from which he was dismissed in 1933 due to his Jewish background. He subsequently travelled to Palestine with his wife, where he died in 1936.
